Initiated in 2016 by Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), NAFED has been instrumental in promoting the FEAST software—a product of over three decades of research and development in finite element software for launch vehicle structural design and analysis. The Eighth National Finite Element Developers' / FEAST Users' Meet (NAFED 08) aims to foster collaboration among domain experts and software engineers specializing in finite element methods and numerical computational techniques in India. This event serves as a platform to enhance capabilities in indigenous general purpose finite element software development, aligning with the goals of Atmanirbhar Bharat. VSSC's commitment to creating indigenous engineering solutions is reflected in the development of the FEAST software, which features a user-friendly interface and a high-performance parallel finite element solver. The ongoing collaborations and partnerships through Memoranda of Understanding with leading national institutes underscore the collective effort towards nation-building and technological self-reliance. NAFED08 will be held on February 01st, 2025 at Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH), bringing together experts from various national institutes, including IITs, IISc, and IIST as well as leading engineering industries and R&D organisations. This meet facilitates the exchange of ideas and knowledge that directly contributes to the enhancement of the PreWin and FEAST software features and capabilities.
